This educational institute is exclusively for the study of legalities especially with reference to the Indian Legal System. This educational institute was established under the Advocates Act, 1961. This educational institution acts as a testing ground for innovations in legal education. The Bar council of India has asked for a deemed university status from the University Grants Commission. This education institute came into existence on August 29, 1987 through a Gazette Notification. This university has complete academic and administrative autonomy. It has the flexibility for experimentation and innovation. This institute offers a five year graduate course called BALLB and a postgraduate year course called LLM. The entry to these courses is strictly based on the merit. The merit is assessed by an admission test conducted by the admission committee that is appointed by the director of this institute. For the BALLB course the candidate should have cleared the 12th standard examination with at least 50% marks. For the LLM the candidate should have pursued the LLB degree from a recognized university with at least 50 percent marks. There are age restrictions for the degree course.
Swami Vivekananda Yog Anusandhana Samsthana, Bengaluru
